Paolo Barucca, PhD

Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, University College London

I work where statistical physics, network science and machine learning meet, building principled, physics-inspired models that give data-driven methods robustness, interpretability and solid theoretical foundations — especially in highly interconnected, non-stationary systems like financial markets.

Outside the lab I write and perform science comedy as La Scienza Coatta.

Research

Complex networks, random matrix theory, ML for dynamical systems.

Teaching

Algorithmic Trading and Advanced ML in Finance at UCL.

Consultancy

Explainable Complexity: R&D, consulting, training and events.

Comedy

La Scienza Coatta — books, shows and science memes.
